blue ticket

BLUE TICKET

blue discharge (also known as a "blue ticket") was a form of administrative military discharge formerly issued by the United States beginning in 1916. It was neither honorable nor dishonorable. The blue ticket became the discharge of choice for commanders seeking to remove homosexual service members from the ranks.

story

It was the end of 10th grade and I was hanging out with my best friends Mason, Terrence, and Terrell. They came over and picked me up to hang out with them. I hopped in the car and started driving. It wasn’t long before we saw a blue truck which we realized Terrence’s girl grace Bateman was driving with a few of her friends. I remembered we still had my paintball guns in the car from our last shenanigans. We began following them and when we got close enough I rolled down my window put my paintball gun out the window and started pelting that blue truck. They freaked out and we chased them around for a little more then called it quits and drove back to masons where we did the usual and went down stairs to play some COD. A few hours went by when mason suddenly got a text from his girl Lexi who said go outside and look at your car. We all ran outside to see the beautiful white Sequoia covered in what looked to be like melted crayons or something like that. The car was covered along with his driveway and some on his house. I looked at Mason and I knew it was going to be bad. He was as mad as I’ve ever seen him. I was mad to because I knew it was going to suck to clean up but mason took it personal. We all hopped in the car and drove down the street to Radley’s where we went inside and picked up 12 dozen eggs and 2 gallons of whole milk. You should have seen the looks we got. Some moms looked at us with complete disgust and some were just flat out laughing. What was pretty funny to us was our checkout lady didn’t even blink twice. She in fact asked us if we wanted this weird discount thing on them so the eggs ended up only costing like 23 bucks. We got in the car blasting rap. The whole time I thought it was kind of a funny prank like we got them then they got us but now we were definitely going overboard and I knew that. Playing rap loudly I could still see mason mumbling to himself. The kid was pissed. The levies weren’t happy either. So it’s like the middle of the day and we pull up in graces neighborhood and her neighbors are outside like 2 relief society moms and there little kids running around. So I’m like mason we can’t do this now people are everywhere but were already parked in front of her house and her blue truck 20 feet away. I tried to talk him out of it but he didn’t care. He grabs 2 cartons of eggs and hops out of the car. He throws both open cartons at the truck; the levy’s hop out and begin to throw them too. The neighbor ladies started to freak out yelling what are you doing and mason yells back in his loud deep voice he was like do you see my car?! And they had no idea what to say or what was going on. While there outside of the car throwing dozens of eggs I was in the car with the windows down dying of laughter and pelting the truck and garage with the paintball gun. They got the milk and hopped in the bed of their truck and poured it all over the place. The girls must have heard us throwing full cartons of eggs at the garage so suddenly they come running out with just looks of shock and astonishment. Her truck and driveway and garage we covered in over 100 eggs. They started screaming STOOOPPP and then I yelled back if you move I’ll shoot you and had my gun pointed at them so the boys could finish using every last one of those 144 eggs. The girls were nearly in tears and we showed no remorse. I’ve never seen mason so mad. We through the rest of the cartons hopped in the car and sped off.  Graces mom is an awesome lady and her neighbors were confused and angry that these big kids and half of them being brown showed up in their precious neighborhood and vandalized everything. They wanted her to call the cops but she covered for us even though we just destroyed her house. We made Terrence graces boyfriend go clean most of it up haha. Then we all formally apologized to graces mom. Anyways we are all best friends and that was a great day

Enjoy the good and the bad

You win some and you lose some...but the joy of winning would not be as sweet without knowing the pain of what it feels like to lose. If everything in was we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the good times. For example I’ve had an ingrown toenail before (I know nasty huh) and every time you run on an ingrown toenail it’s like a knife poking your toe. When I finally went to the doctors and had it removed it was like the best feeling ever to be able to run without pain and I was so glad to be able to run pain free. What I’m trying to say is without the bad times you wouldn’t appreciate the good. Hard times make you grateful for all the good times.

Fear of the unknown.

"Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones."

Thich Nhat Hanh

This quote is so great. It makes me so happy so I thought I should share it.

#different...because this is a very long post

#different..Being different is a good. I have many friends who are considered different by society. These so called "different" kids are the most amazing kind of people I have ever met and if people could have half the love they have in their hearts our world would be a much much better place. I’m talking about the kids in my peer tutor class.
Well hands down Peer tutor is my favorite class and I look forward to my third period class every B day. Walking into that room always brightens my day because of all the friendly smiles and greetings I receive. Peer tutor has taught me so much about myself and about life. This class is such an amazing learning experience and I have learned so much. I have loved working with all the students and consider all of them my dear friends.  I can honestly say I love them with all my heart. So last year was my first time doing peer tutor and I was a bit nervous.  I came into class not knowing what to expect, from what I thought of people with disabilities I thought I should be nervous because they “are different than everyone else”. I think many people in our school and society are uneducated about people with special needs and a little standoffish at times. I wish more people would get the chance to do peer tutor or to work with kids with special needs, so they could experience the joy and happiness that comes with it. I think these students are some of the most Christ like people on the planet; they’re just full of love. They are so pure - if that makes sense.  They don’t judge or hate, and they are the most forgiving people I’ve ever met. Dayton is one of my really good friends in this class and he has taught me so much. My very first day of peer tutor I was assigned to work with Dayton; he is a little more dependent on others and learns a little slower, but I began to realize that honestly didn’t matter one bit. He was a little shy at first, but then after talking with him for a bit I realized that Dayton is one of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever met.  All he does is smile and say hi to everyone she comes into contact with. Dayton taught me how to have patience and to always forgive. Dayton is always apologizing, he never does anything wrong, but if he thinks he did he immediately says sorry in his perfect, quiet little voice. I learned a lot about myself because of him.  He taught me a lot, and I hope I can be more like him. I might tutor these students in school, but they definitely tutor me for life. Another student that sticks out to me is Mason. Mason is my best bud.  He always yells my name when I walk in the room. Mason is so kind to everyone and has a very funny and kind personality. I love Mason and I’m pretty sure he loves me too, but that’s not really impressive because he literally loves everyone. I remember one time Mason thought he hurt my feelings and he felt so bad.  He did a sad face and patted me on the back.  Then he said that he was sorry and I wanted to cry because this kid has such a sweet heart and wants everyone to be happy. I love all of the diversity we have in the class with all the personalities and disabilities. Everyone in there is so special to me. I have become very close with many of the students I have worked with and with every student I learn something new about myself or life. I learned patience, kindness, love, and unselfishness. So in closing I would just like to say that I recommend anyone and everyone to take this class and I guarantee you will love it.

Mr. Roboto

Sometimes I feel as if I am a robot..

ro·bot
ˈrōˌbät,ˈrōbət/
noun
  1. a machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically, especially one programmable by a computer.

    • (especially in science fiction) a machine resembling a human being and able to replicate certain human movements and functions automatically.

    • used to refer to a person who behaves in a mechanical or unemotional manner.

Wouldn't things be better if we were robots??
I read the news almost every day and a lot of the things on there make me sick. Sometimes I think there is no hope for the human race. Every once in awhile stuff change my mind and I can see the good in people. I’ve wondering, are people naturally born evil or are we born good? It is a question that has puzzled people for a long time and not many can actually find the answer. The fact that humans may be born good and have slowly been corrupted by society, or have they been born evil and have been kept in check by laws is unknown. It is such a question that there has been no solid evidence to whether humans are good or evil. Unless you think for a while, and soon consider babies. Babies have barely any stored information about what is right and what is wrong. They have no friends, no cultural influence, no school or public communication; their innocent minds haven't had many influences yet.

I believe humans are born neither good nor bad, but more like a lightly colored canvas in which there environment will slowly add different colors, good and bad, too. This does not mean parents are to blame for bad children, children when young are very easily shaped and can be affected by small things.

Crayons

Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing.
              --John Mayer
I feel like you don’t just become an amazing box of 64 different colored crayons; you have to slowly acquire more. Maybe one day you get a turquoise or a few shades of silver, but getting there will take time. We often think other people have the full 64 colors when in reality they only have 24. We continuously compare ourselves noticing all the colors we don’t have. You don’t need 64 colors to create something beautiful.

Cool story I heard about bricks.

So I am a huge sports lover and anyone who loves sports probably knows who Jerry Rice is. Jerry Rice was a NFL wide receiver who played for the San Francisco 49ers. He is widely considered to be the greatest wide receiver in NFL history and among the greatest NFL players overall. He is the all-time leader in most major statistical categories for wide receivers, including receptions, touchdown receptions, and receiving yards. Rice was selected to the Pro bowl 13 times and named All-Pro 12 times in his 20 NFL seasons. He won three Super Bowl rings playing for the San Francisco 49ers. Rice holds over 100 NFL records, the most of any player ever.
As a young man and a son to a brick layer, Jerry Rice would often help his dad with his jobs. So the story goes that Jerry would stand two stories up on whatever building they were working on and he would have his brothers through bricks way up to him and he would snatch them out of the air. This is one of the many reasons people think he could catch a football so easily. So are bricks the reason why Jerry Rice had so much success? You could relate him catching all these bricks to the original use for bricks, to build the base and structure of these houses and building. So are bricks also the base and structure to having the best hands to ever play in the NFL? Hey you want to be a good football player?...Then go catch a bunch of bricks.

Little kids can get away with anything.

Growing up I’ve realized that kids are mean to everyone, and that's great. When I was a little kid I once pointed at a very large lady and asked in my loud little kid voice, “Mommy, how did she get so fat?”. When I was an adorable 5 year old I could get away with that, if I said that now the fat lady and my mom would beat me up. You can be as inconsiderate and grouchy as you want when you're young, because you're dumb and cute and don't understand the world yet. Eventually, you reach an age when being a jerk is unacceptable. You've got to spend most of your life being polite, respectful, and ever so slightly afraid. Nowadays we have to worry if something we say might offend someone, like honestly I couldn’t care less if  I’m politically correct or not. Every time we speak, we are walking on egg shells…..so be careful. Hahaha.

If it makes you feel any better, once you hit 70, all bets are off again. You can go back to being a complete asshole, only this time you're allowed to say that word. It's not all bad.

I used to be love drunk but now I'm hungover

Love to me is a bunch of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from pleasure (“I loved that burrito”) to interpersonal affection (“I love my hipster grandma”). It can refer to an emotion, strong attraction, or personal attachment. Love can be a virtue like kindness, compassion, and affection---“the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another”. Love may also describe affectionate and compassionate actions toward someone or one’s self.

Most of us understand what it means to love another person. The feelings of intense desire, admiration and emotional investment in another person are likely familiar. But loving yourself? That can feel like a foreign concept to many of us. Self-love is a combination of self-acceptance, self-possession (different than self-obsession), self-awareness, and kindness and respect for ourselves. So before you throw your heart at your crush this Valentine’s day, try to learn to love yourself first. So go buy yourself a dozen roses. Go open a notebook and write down stuff you love about yourself. Love yourself. I’m not saying to be Ms./Mr. Independent or to make it your goal to die alone, I’m just saying that before you try to love someone else learn to love yourself first. Accept and love yourself for who you are then go love and accept someone for who they are.

Have a great Valentine’s Day. I love you.

Super Bowl Commercials.

Super Bowl Commercials.

Super Bowl Sunday is American as it gets. Millions of people gather around a television to watch a bunch of grown men running around and beating eachother up. I love it.

While I watched the game I always look forward to the notorious superbowl commercials. I mean honestly some people watch the super bowl for the commercials. On super bowl sunday a commercial break is no longer a bathroom break. Whether they’re amusing or serious it always fascinates me to see what these multi billion dollar corporations will put together for their single most important advertisements of the year. The commercials aren't always great but every year there is at least one that makes me crack up. Here is my favorite commercial. Feel free to comment and post your favorite commercial below. Hope you all enjoyed your super bowl sunday. Go Broncos.

Hat hair.

HATS
My hat gives me terrible hat hair. I’ve been busy covering the messy curls on my head. I wish there was a hat to cover these messy emotions in my head. Everyone wearing hats. All kinds of hats, boat hats, snapbacks, trucker hats, and baseball caps. Not the hat, but beneath the hat. We didn't start wearing hats until we got older, maybe it’s because we didn't care about messy hair or what people would wear. Maybe because when we were younger we weren't afraid to show who we were, never covering up with a hat on our heads. We wore our emotions on our sleeves.
You look good in that baseball cap...but I’d rather see your beautiful hair.

While my heart beats

Your heart beats about 4,800 times per hour.

That's a whopping 115,200 times per day.

Your Heart Beats 42 million times in a year.

If you live to be 80 years old, your heart would have beaten approximately 3,363,840,000 times!

What will you have hoped to accomplish in those 3,363,840,000 beats?

By the time I had reached the age of 11 I had already lost someone close to me.
Their heart never reached 3,363,840,000 beats..
How do you want to spend  your heart beats?

Here is a number of things I hope to accomplish with my heart beats before the age of 30.

  1. Become financially independent from your parents:
  2. Decide what you truly want from a relationship and stop settling for anything less than that
  3. Go off on an adventure:
  4. Get in shape:
  5. Set goals for yourself and accomplish them
  6. Find a career you really love
  7. Do some serious activism or volunteer work
  8. Develop your own set of principles
  9. Stop comparing yourself to others:
  10. Graduate from college
  11. Love and accept yourself
  12. Face your fears
  13. Realize there is good and bad in everyone
  14. Have a savings account that you contribute to every month
  15. Learn to control your anger:
  16. Be able to accept criticism:
  17. Learn how to say “no"
  18. Realize that every phase of life has something new and good to offer
  19. Do some soul searching
  20. Make a decision regarding kids
  21. Learn another language
  22. Get rid of bad habits
  23. Forgive yourself
  24. Forgive your parents
  25. Get rid of toxic friends
  26. Stop trying to change people
  27. Fall in love with yourself
  28. Do something “crazy”
  29. Take other people’s advice
  30. Deal with your issues
These are things I hope to accomplish and strive for. A lot on this list is what I will discuss and talk about during my blog.
